Ex-New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez shared glimpses of his recent Tokyo adventures on social media. A-Rod’s arrival in Japan on Saturday was warmly greeted by fans as they surrounded him for pictures and autographs.
His Japan journey has been documented on his Instagram account where he shares the various items the fans brought to get his signature. While speaking at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, Alex Rodriguez recounted and praised two-way star Shohei Ohtani.
He spoke about how Ohtani changed the baseball graphics since his $700 million signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers. His high contract deal became the spotlight as it was the highest contract any player signed in baseball history.
However, Alex Rodriguez believes the money does not matter too much, as the Dodgers have been able to benefit enough from the deal. A-Rod in 2000 held a similar 10-year contract with the Texas Rangers which he signed for $252 million, the then-highest deal.
He further went on to compare Shohei Ohtani to baseball legend Babe Ruth and GOAT Michael Jordan. Rodriguez believes Ohtani is in a class of two, which belongs to him and Ruth.
Rodriguez also praised Ohtani’s “historic” achievements in baseball so far, saying he may one day elevate MLB to a new level. Especially, his way of playing and record-breaking performance will bring Japan and America to closer bonds in terms of baseball records.
Aaron Judge complimented Shohei Ohtani prior World Series faceoff
Just like former New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez, the current team captain Aaron Judge also praised Shohei Ohtani before the World Series faceoff. Judge called Ohtani “the best player in the game” and even an “ambassador” of the sport.
While the NY Yankees and LA Dodgers did faceoff in the World Series, the latter took the ring after winning in five games against the pinstripes. Unfortunately, Judge failed to shine in the spotlight as he struggled to get out of his slump.
"The best player in the game. What an ambassador for this sport."

The Fall Classic ended before the two even got to battle it out on the big October stage. However, with both teams restructuring and signing players, they’ll once again get the chance to face off against each other in 2025.
