During the 2024 All-Star, Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, and David Ortiz were asked to make their World Series predictions. While Jeter and Ortiz chose different teams, A-Rod went with the New York Yankees.
He commented how the Yanks executive Brian Cashman’s trade moves can actually make this dream possible. Rodriguez even said the Yankees would be playing against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the best-of-7-series, re-igniting the 1981 World Series atmosphere.
Yankees and Dodgers have one of the best rivalries in Major League Baseball and it’ll once again be renewed at Dodgers Stadium on Friday. The field will be packed with some of the best players in MLB like – Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, Mookie Betts, Giancarlo Stanton, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
This is based, (Kevin Burkhardt), on Brian Cashman having a huge trade deadline moment, maybe a big move or two. And what I like is – if he does – I like the Yankees winning over the Dodgers in a rematch of the ’81 World Series in seven. Yankees in seven over the Dodgers.

Derek Jeter was the first one to pick his teams for the World Series. He chose the Philadelphia Phillies vs. the Baltimore Orioles. On the other hand, David Ortiz picked the Boston Red Sox vs. Philadelphia Phillies.
Scarily enough Alex Rodriguez’s prediction came true as both the teams will indeed be facing each other at the 2024 World Series. It’s been 43 years since their last match, and 15 years since the pinstripes advanced to the World Series.
Derek Jeter chose Juan Soto to be in the Bronx even before Yankees’ trade
Seems like the New York Yankees’ former players Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter have foresight powers, noting how both their hopes and predictions came true in 2024. While A-Rod talked about a possible Yankees-Dodgers match in the World Series, Jeter hoped for the Yankees to trade for Juan Soto.
Jeter, back on July 17, 2023, said it would be great if the NY Yankees go for Juan Soto as it’ll give them more depth and offensive power in the lineup. Just a couple of months later the Pinstripes did just that.
They added Soto to the Bronx in December 2023, and since then, the outfielder has noted several personal records as well as boosting the team for victory. Although his free agency concerns many Yankees fans, the organization said they’ll put their all to keep him in the team.

Even during the regular season, as well as in the playoffs, the fans chanted “Re-sign Soto” multiple times. His free agency will be chaotic, but for now, the 25-year-old’s focus remains on winning the World Series with the NY Yankees.
