It was a comprehensive performance by Alexander Zverev as he claimed the title in Acapulco without dropping a single set this week. Moreover, this run in Acapulco would have boosted his confidence after his shocking second round exit from the Rotterdam Open 2021. With most top players withdrawing from the Miami Open next week, the German has a decent shot at winning two back-to-back titles.

Alexander Zverev outplays Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final

Alexander Zverev started off on a strong note, winning the first set 6-4. The German had to toil hard in the second set as it went to the tiebreaker. However, Zverev stamped his class in the tiebreaker as he won it convincingly to lift the title.

Alexander Zverev won 86 points, whereas, Stefanos Tsitsipas managed to win 77 points. The second seed did not serve particularly well, as he had eight double faults to his name, while managing to serve up just four aces. However, Zverev had a decent win percentage on his first serve as he won 78% of those points compared to Tsitsipas’ tally of 63%. The German had 12 break point opportunities and converted three of those, which was enough to hand him a victory in the final.
