The debate on who is the ultimate Sports GOAT has gotten to another level in the past few days. Just a few hours after Stefanos Tsitsipas picked Rafael Nadal as his greatest of all-time athlete, Alexander Zverev has chosen another legend. The German star picked Novak Djokovic after Tsitsipas had surprisingly snubbed him.
Tsitsipas recently sat for a game with 433 where he repeatedly chose between two great athletes before being left with one at the end. He was first given to choose between Carlos Alcaraz and Jude Bellingham. Unsurprisingly, he chose Alcaraz but later dropped him for Roger Federer.
He later chose Michael Jordan over Federer and Lionel Messi. He then decided to drop the NBA legend for Muhammad Ali instead of Cristiano Ronaldo before choosing Nadal above NBA star LeBron James. In the end, the 2021 French Open runners-up picked Nadal over Djokovic, which was a big shock to fans.
However, Zverev was on the opposite side of Tsitsipas’ pick. The World No.2 picked Michael Jordan above Nadal before choosing Djokovic over the NBA legend. The pick was statistically correct, as Djokovic remains the most successful tennis player ever. The 37-year-old has won 24 Grand Slam titles and seven ATP Finals.

On the other hand, Nadal has had an illustrious career having won over 90 career titles, including 22 Grand Slam wins. He was most successful on the clay court winning 14 Roland Garros titles. The 38-year-old also recently announced that he will.be retiring from professional tennis at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga. The tournament is scheduled to start on November 19.
Alexander Zverev ready to face Carlos Alcaraz in final John Newcombe Group match
Alexander Zverev took one step closer to qualifying for the semifinals of the ATP Finals after beating Casper Ruud on Wednesday (November 13). The 27-year-old won his opening match against Andrey Rublev before beating Ruud 7-6(3), 6-3 to continue his perfect start at the tournament.
However, he will face Carlos Alcaraz, who is in desperate need of a win after losing his opening match. The match between Zverev and Alcaraz is expected to be played in the afternoon on November 15, but the former has revealed that he would have preferred to play in the night.
Alcaraz has only one win and needs a straight-sets victory against Zverev to qualify, while hoping that Ruud beats Andrey Rublev. Except for Rublev, the fate of the players in the John Newcombe Group will be decided on November 15.
