Alexander Zverev

Alexander Zverev won his first ATP 500 or something higher for the first time since 2018 when he won the Acapulco Open 2021. Before this, the last major title he had won had come in the 2018 ATP Finals. In the Acapulco Open, where he was seeded second, he faced the top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Finals. A match he dominated and won in straight sets 6-4 7-6.

Zverev was understandably thrilled with the win. He said that players participate in tournaments to win them and he is extremely happy with that. But he says his main goal is to win the big trophies, the Grand slams

Zverev said, “It’s great achievement for me. You come to play tournaments to win tournaments.” Zverev continued, “I have done that this week. I am extremely happy with that. The main goal is still the biggest titles in the world.”

Alexander Zverev played in his 23rd ATP Final in the Acapulco Open 2021, and won his 14th ATP Trophy. His first ATP Win was in St Petersburg in 2016. The biggest trophy Zverev has won so far is undoubtedly the ATP Finals in 2018. Zverev has time and again stressed that he wants to win the bigger trophies.

His indications have no doubt been towards the Grand slams. Starting this week is the Miami Open 2021, a tournament that has seen a lot of withdrawals, especially in the men’s division.
