Alexander Zverev responds to Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend Morgan Riddle’s ‘over the top’ celebration after exchange at nets with American

German tennis ace Alexander Zverev was not pleased with Taylor Fritz‘s girlfriend Morgan Riddle‘s “over the top” celebrations after his defeat to the American in the fourth round of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. Zverev lost the match from a position of control, having won the first two sets in the match.

Not only did Riddle jump in joy and dance after Fritz’s win but also took to social media to express her happiness. Additionally, she took a dig at the German for the domestic violence cases filed against him by his ex-girlfriends. The social media influencer wrote “Cheer out ladies” when the match was on.

After the match, Riddle took to Instagram to share a video in which she can be seen dancing. She also wrote a caption expressing her feelings.

Alexander Zverev explains what irked him during the match against Taylor Fritz

Alexander Zverev spoke about his relationship with Taylor Fritz and his team and claimed that the American and his team are “extremely respectful” towards him. However, he did not like the “over the top” celebrations from people who are not from the tennis world.

His team is extremely respectful. I think his coach, his physio, also his second coach, they're extremely respectful. I think there's some other people that maybe are in the box that are not maybe from the tennis world, that are not maybe from particularly watching every single match. They were a bit over the top.

On the sporting front, Zverev lost another chance to go deep into a Grand Slam tournament. He started the match against Fritz strong but failed to prevent the American from making a comeback. He ended up losing 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 6-3.

With the win, Fritz booked his sport in the quarterfinals, where he will face 25th seed Lorenzo Musetti, against whom he has a 2-1 head-to-head advantage. Theo recently met in Monte-Carlo, where Musetti won Fritz 6-4, 6-4.
