On the upcoming UFC main event on February 6, Alistair Overeem will fight against Alexander Volkov. If Overeem wins this fight he will continue his climb towards title contention in the Heavyweight division.

UFC President Dana White announced this fight via ESPN on Thursday. The location for the fight has not been revealed yet.

In his last five fights, Overeem has won four fights and lost one, he said that he’s making one final run at UFC gold before calling in a career. He has back-to-back TKO over Augusto Sakai and Walt Harris.

Overeem vs Volkov finally gonna happen in February

Overeem vs Volkov will take place on February 6, during the same weekend as the upcoming Super Bowl from Florida.

Back in 2019 Overeem was scheduled to face the Russian heavyweight Volkov, but was forced out due to injury. Aleksei Oleinik replaced Volkov in that fight and Overeem finished the submission specialist.

Volkov has gone 2-2 in his past four fight with wins over Greg Hardy and Walt Harris while dropping fights to Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes. Overall, Volkov had eight fights in UFC and won six.
