BKFC on DAZN 4 took shape at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., over the weekend. Equity part-owner Conor McGregor wasn’t causing a ruckus at the marquee event, downing pints and throwing cash away. Why so? Because McGregor already has his hands full with Team Khabib and disses, he preps for them a la carte. UFC featherweight Aljamain Sterling weighs in on the matter.
Sterling has great reverence for notorieties like Jon Jones and “Notorious”. Sterling is a recent UFC 145-pound shift, a division that the former double-division champ once headed. Aljo keeps a close eye and shares an open dialogue with people on what’s what about active or even inactive fighters. Consequently, foul, viral, stingy snippets are something McGregor is never out of.
McGregor went off the rails in a scathing post about Khabib Nurmagomedov recently. The Irishman’s post touted the usual lineup of racial slurs and derogatory ideas about Dagestani heritage. This was after Irishman Paul Hughes was seen talking to the Team Khabib moniker headman after his PFL’s Champions Series: Road to Dubai matchup.
No. Some real crazy work there https://t.co/6oMnEilwtl

The ‘Funk Master’ came across the post from @DovySimuMMA on X who asked if McGregor should be given the ‘n-word pass’. Sterling hints at a hard no. Born to Jamaican parents in Uniondale, New York, Aljo has flown high.
A proud 2-time NCAA Division III All-American (87–27), a former Cage Fury Fighting/UFC champ, and even a prime REALTOR® with Vylla Home, he refuses to take POC slander out of the blue in such a wild body of work. Additionally, even Hughes recently weighed in on the wildness.
Irishman Paul Hughes reflects on Conor McGregor’s post which took aim at his Northern Irish heritage
Hughes’ PFL Dubai clash with Usman Nurmagomedov was dubbed Ireland vs. Dagestan 2, with Conor McGregor comparisons. The Co. Dubliner man did start his rivalry with Team Khabib during the UFC 229 PPV: Khabib vs. McGregor lead-up. After the Champions Series: Road to Dubai (Series 6) event, the floodgates are open again.
Nurmagomedov defeated Paul Hughes via majority decision (47-47, 48-46, 48-46), but the latter earned praises for his spirit. Even Team Khabib lauded him, and Hughes said that he is his own man and reciprocates the respect. This means he refused to engage in foul mouth scuffles with them, unlike McGregor.
McGregor took notice of the “I’m not like this other guy. I’m my own man…” commentary, and went berserk. Now, “Big News” Hughes talks about the fallout.
The former Cage Warriors Featherweight champ was the first Irish man to hold a strap of global import, ever since Conor McGregor. Now, despite a previous admiration, the Team Fight Academy Ireland fighter says life will move on. Hughes now even has an invite from Nurmagomedov and Co. to train with them. While still angling for a PFL lightweight contention opportunity, he might just accept those terms.
