“All he needs is a little space” Damian Lillard lauds Stephen Curry
Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry
Portland Trailblazers’ marquee players Damian Lillard praises Stephen Curry for his offensive ability and 3-point shooting. After missing the entire 2019-20 season, Curry is all set to return with the Golden State Warriors. Having being named as the MVP twice, Curry shows no signs of slowing down. Having being the best team in the western conference for almost 5-6 years, Curry was the ideal leader for the Dubs.
Lillard recently appeared on rapper Fat Joe’s Instagram live, where he widely spoke about basketball and his career in the NBA. Lillard credits Steph Curry as one of them and fans would agree too! It has to be said that Curry was inarguably the main piece of the puzzle for the Warriors sensational run in the last decade.
“Whenever he takes a shot, it’s like Damn!” Damian Lillard on Stephen Curry
“I would say probably Steph [Curry] because he just don’t stop moving,” Lillard mentioned. “When you play against Steph, it’s not even like when he has the ball, it is when he won’t have the ball.”
“He’s just running all over the place, they screen for him and it’s like it’s a heavy workload when you’re playing against him because he doesn’t stop moving,” Lillard said. “He’ll make any shot, he’ll shoot any shot, it’s like Damn.”
Curry has quickly cemented his place as one of the best shooters to play the game. The Warriors’ potent offensive system has a lot to do with his success as well.
“All he needs is a little space,” mentioned Lillard. “Draymond setting illegal screens like that’s the one where I’d be like ‘Damn.’ The night before where you’re like, ‘Man, I’m about to have to chase him around,’ like he could get hot.”
Having said that, Lillard and Curry would go head-to-head on New Year’s Day eve. Knowing their 3-point shooting ability, it would be interesting to see who comes out on top.
