All six hockey players discharged after recovering ‘fully’

Six hockey players, who tested positive for COVID-19 and were shifted to hospital as a precaution measure a day after one player out of them, Mandeep Singh blood oxygen level dropped, now all six of them have recovered fully and have been discharged.

The players were, Manpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Surender Kumar, Jaskaran Singh, Varun Kumar and Krishna B Pathak.

As fow now, all six of them to ensure that the 6 of them have no contact with other other campers over 10 days, are housed on the ground floor of the hostel as a precautionary measure.

And for the rest of the players, both men and women of Indian hockey team will resume sporting activities as per scheduled that is from August 19.

SAI said, “All six players Manpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Surender Kumar, Jaskaran Singh, Varun Kumar and Krishna B Pathak, who had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month and were later shifted to hospital as a precautionary measure and for better monitoring were discharged from hospital earlier today and are now under quarantine at Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) in Bengaluru.”

SS Sparsh Multispeciality hospital in Bengaluru’s Dr. Arun Kumar said,

“All six players have recovered fully and their vitals are absolutely stable. They will be in quarantine at SAI’s Bengaluru centre and will be given the anti-body test after 10 days to check if they have immunity against the virus,” statement by Dr. Kumar.
