There has been a new twist in the tale of Canadian left-back Alphonso Davies. Manchester United has expressed harder interest to drive down for the big man. Davies’ future has been a major point of discussion as his contract with Bayern Munich runs out in the summer of 2025. However, the competition for the big man is as fierce as it gets.
Bayern Munich has ensured the fact that they are going to go all guns blazing for Davies, their first-choice left-back. Two new suitors are hot on the heels of the Canadian: Manchester United and Real Madrid. With Alphonso Davies being a free agent in 2025, both United and Madrid are more than willing to bring the speedster into their echelons.
Earlier in this week, Davies’ agent Nedal Huoseh axed down reports suggesting that the former has already put pen to paper on a new contract with Real Madrid. As per Spanish publication, AS, it’s Manchester United who are keenest on signing him. The report from AS further states that Real Madrid have made their last offer for Davies.

This clarification has given a major boost to the Red Devils, who have decided to head hammer and tongs for the left-back, especially with injury being a major concern for Manchester United in that particular position. With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia being their two options, United’s perennial struggles with that particular position continue.
The addition of Davies can be a major solution for United as he will get to link with his former teammates at Bayern Munich who were landed earlier in the summer, namely Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
Here is what Victor Lindelof had to say about Manchester United’s new coach, Ruben Amorim
In the meantime, Manchester United has announced their latest coach in the form of Ruben Amorim. United’s defender, Victor Lindelof, has previously played with Amorim. He has said in an interview that he knew Amorim only as a player, and the duo shared no other bond outside the playing field. The duo shared the dressing room at Benfica, where Amorim was a senior player while Lindelof, at that point in time, was fairly young.
It was a shoddy start for Manchester United to the ongoing season, as they have managed to secure just four wins while drawing three out of the 11 games that they have played in the ongoing season. Erik ten Hag, who was the former manager, was given the marching orders as United consistently failed to score under his reign.
This compelled the management to go for Amorim after a brief stint with interim manager and former Manchester United striker, Ruud van Nistelrooy.
