Dallas Cowboys seems to have been picking up the pieces, winning two games in a row. When everything started to look like things were finally coming together, it all fell apart. The Cincinnati Bengals snapped their two-game streak with a much-needed win on Monday.
In a relatively less offensive game, there was one specific moment in the game that turned out to be a decisive move that resulted in their loss – cornerback Amani Oruwariye’s late-game blunder.
With under two minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Cowboys had a golden opportunity for a comeback after Nick Vigil blocked a Bengals punt, setting them up in Bengals territory. However, the chance unraveled when Oruwariye mishandled the bouncing ball near midfield, evoking memories of Leon Lett’s infamous Thanksgiving Day misstep.
Had Oruwariye the ball rolled dead, the Cowboys could have gained the possession. Cooper Rush and the offense could have managed to find a scope to attempt a game-winning or game-tying drive. The Cowboys, who have Brandon Aubrey, capable of hitting 65-yard FGs lost an enormous opportunity.
What did happen? The Bengals regained possession, and in the final seconds, Joe Burrow sealed the Cowboys’ fate with a 40-yard touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase.
Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager upheld his displeasure, in his post-game media appearance. He acknowledged that the mistake was impactful.
“I don’t know if we say anything to him. We made the mistakes out there. That mistake we made at the end… it was very impactful, is all I can say.”

Has to be cut right after the game

Cut that moron immediately. He literally lost the game. Field goal range right there and can easily run the clock out.

Some fans went up a notch higher, tweeting that Oruwariye should be shown the exit right at the stadium itself.
Don’t even let Amani Oruwariye back in the locker room tonight. Send him out the fan exits

If I’m Jerry Jones, I’m cutting Amani Oruwariye before he even gets to the locker room. Sorry, but there’s no excuse for that.

Amani Oruwariye’s mistake would have been costly for the Cowboys. There’s no defending such a mistake, however, the storylines seem to follow what-ifs. There’s no saying whether the Cowboys would make the playoffs if for the win. However, one thing’s sure, Micah Parsons would definitely not be okay with the specific blunder.
