Amon-Ra St. Brown revealed that his father, John Brown, made him kiss his brother on the lips as recently as high school. The Detroit Lions’ wide receiver’s revelation drew mixed reviews on the internet.

St. Brown is the son of the former Mr. Universe, John Brown, and Miriam Steyer. The 25-year-old has an older brother named Equanimeous, who was on the Saints roster in 2024, and a younger brother, Osiris, a former four-star recruit who played for Stanford in college.

John Brown gave wrestling lessons to his boys when they were young, but they switched to football in school. After graduating, Amon-Ra joined USC and played 30 games for the Trojans, recording 2270 yards from 178 receptions and 16 touchdowns.

The Lions selected Brown in the fourth round in 2021. Since his debut, St. Brown has caught 430 passes for 4851 yards (11.2 yards per catch) and scored 33 touchdowns. He received All-Pro nods twice and Pro Bowl call-ups every year since 2022.

In 2023, St. Brown caught 119 passes for 1515 yards and 10 touchdowns. It was enough for the Lions to tie him down to a four-year, $120 million contract extension, which will keep him in Detroit until 2028.

The Anaheim Hills, California, native claimed that his dad, John, would often kiss his brothers.

I kissed my dad on the lips. In high school, I kissed him on the lips. I kissed my brothers on the lips when I was growing up. Dad made us do it.

The credit goes to John. He always felt his name was very vanilla, but wanted his son to stand out.
