Former Middle Weight Champion Anderson Silva will soon be remembered as UFC Hall Of Fame as he plans to bid farewell to promotion soon. His next fight is most probably his last fight as the veteran has finally decided to retire to his home.

The news was revealed by UFC president Dana White. As per his statement, Silva will be seen fighting for the last time inside the Octagon on October 31. Following this fight, regardless of the result, he will bidding farewell to his MMA career.

White was speaking on the installment of Contender Series and said, “We’re working on a fight for him coming up soon here. He will fight again. I met with his managers the other day, this will be his last fight. I think he’s going to retire.”

White further clarified there will be no interference from the promotion in his decision. Neither he will be asked to retire and nor to not. White added that it will be completely his own decision.

“That’s not our business,” White said about Silva’s potential retirement. “That’s up to him. Let him do the way he wants to do it. We’re talking about putting him in a very competitive fight that should be fun. The fight’s not done yet.”

However, the last hasn’t been booked yet. White told media that they were in talks with Urjiah Hall for this matchup. White further claimed that fight will be most probably headline of the promotion’s October 31st card.

Brief look at Anderson Silva’s career

Silva holds the record of being the longest champion in the middleweight division in UFC. His resume is second to none.  He started off his career by fighting under local promotion sin Brazil and then went to Japan. In Japan, he fought on several PRIDE Fighting Championships and finally made his debut at UFC in 2006.

Anderson Silva remained undefeated inside the Octagon for over 6 years. He cleaned the whole middleweight division almost single handedly.
