Los Angeles Lakers are having a roller coaster of a season so far. After facing injury issues the superstars of the team have been side lined. They are missing two MVP calibre players like LeBron James and Anthony Davis which is a clear slump. Despite this, they have managed to pull some great wins recently against the juggernauts of the league. LA Lakers registered a win against the Brooklyn Nets who are arguably a super team this season. Now the team have surpassed Charlotte Hornets to in solidifying their stance in the top 8. Andre Drummond recently unveiled the reason behind their wins without major figureheads.
The Lakers and Hornets battled a tough contesting game earlier today and won by 8-point margin. The game ended at 93-101 in favour of LA with some wild drama in the event of game. Jalen McDaniels and Caleb Martin postereized Ben McLemore and Kyle Kuzma in the 2nd and 3rd quarter respectively. The brutal dunks brought real hype to the game. After leading initially, Hornets lost the lead to a great performance by Talen Horton-Tucker and Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma had 24 points while the new recruit Andre Drummond had 12 rebounds. Hornets were faced locked up defense despite their aggressive approach earlier. A lot of turnovers and bad choice of shot held them back.
Andre Drummond reveals reason for resilient defense
With the absence of 2 major superstars like LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Lakers have managed to pull off major victories. Being deprived of wins initially, they added Andre Drummond who has been a great support while rebounding the ball. Andre Drummond recently unfolded what kept the Lakers’ going and getting win.
Drummond said, “For a team that has so many people out right now and guys that are hurt, we’re still finding ways to pull together and win. It just shows the fight and grind that we have here. You can’t expect us to have much (offensive) chemistry when we don’t know who we’re playing with every night. We’re hanging our hat on defense and allowing that to take us to wins.”
When the Lakers perform with Bron and AD, they ensure they are the best defensive team. Now the Lakers have held on to the same idea that has kept them motivated. Andre Drummond has has got the Los Angeles Lakers going. According to sources, AD is soon to join the squad in a week’s time while LeBron maybe back by the end of the month.
