World No. 7 Andrey Rublev has admitted that it has been quite stressful following the ATP Finals qualification over the past few weeks. The Russian is currently 8th in the race but still needs a few more points to confirm his spot for the Nitto ATP Finals.
Speaking to the media, Rublev shared that he is not a big fan of rankings. However, given the current situation, he has been checking the numbers and his potential opponents more frequently.
Rublev might not even need to finish in the top 8 to secure his spot in the ATP Finals. This largely depends on the decision of seven-time ATP Finals champion Novak Djokovic.

The Serbian is currently sixth in the standings, ahead of Rublev and Casper Ruud. However, he has said that the tournament in Turin is no longer his priority, as he wants to focus on competing for Grand Slams.
Djokovic has withdrawn from the Paris Masters as the defending champion, and there is growing speculation that even if he qualifies, he may not participate in Turin to defend his title.
Who are the contenders for the ATP Finals qualification?
With just two weeks left until the Nitto ATP Finals, players are battling hard for a spot. The PIF ATP Live Race To Turin is nearing its end, and recent results in Basel and Vienna have made the standings even tighter. Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev, Alex de Minaur, Grigor Dimitrov, and Tommy Paul were among the hopefuls competing for crucial points.
De Minaur closed in on eighth-placed Rublev after a strong run to the semi-finals in Vienna. De Minaur picked up 200 points, bringing him closer to qualifying for his first Nitto ATP Finals. Despite dealing with a hip injury since Wimbledon, the Aussie defeated Jan-Lennard Struff, Flavio Cobolli, and rising Czech star Jakub Mensik. The Nitto ATP Finals will be held from November 10-17, and De Minaur remains just outside the qualifying spots.
Rublev, currently eighth in the race, earned an additional 100 points by reaching the quarterfinals in Basel. The 27-year-old has won two titles this season and aims to secure his fifth consecutive appearance at the Finals. He will compete in Paris this week to solidify his position.
Dimitrov climbed one place in the standings after reaching the second round in Vienna. However, he remains 570 points behind Rublev and needs a deep run in Paris to keep his hopes alive. Last year, Dimitrov reached the final at the Paris Masters. So, he will look to repeat that performance. Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, and Daniil Medvedev have already qualified for Turin.
