Andy Murray crashed out of his possible last Roland Garros after losing to Stan Wawrinka in the first round 6-4, 6-4, 6-2. After the defeat in two hours and 11 minutes, the three-time Grand Slam champion from Britain talked about how the result at the clay-court event in Paris would have been different if he had not played in the era of the Big-3 and Wawrinka.

Murray has a 39-12 record on the Paris clay court, having reached the semifinals four times (2011, 2014, 2015, 2017), and a final in 2016 when he lost to Novak Djokovic 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4. The Brit lost two semifinals to Rafael Nadal, one to Djokovic and one to Wawrinka.

I played the final, I think four semis and made the quarters. I don't know, I don't know how many times, a couple of times as well, maybe. Yeah, lost in the semis, I lost to Novak in five, Stan in five, and twice to Rafa. Obviously, no shame in that. At a different time, maybe the results would have been a bit different. But yeah, I'm proud of the results that I had here.
Andy Murray said at the press conference

The former World No.1 was a part of the Big-4 in the 2010s, but since 2016, injuries hampered his career and after 2016, he made it to just one semifinal, and failed to reach even the quarterfinals. Overall, the Brit has played in 11 major finals, including five finals at the Australian Open
