Beware of Sir Andy Murray! Because it’s possible that if he stumbles upon something, as good as Jack Draper‘s new blonde highlights, he will make a joke out of it.
Draper lifted the biggest title of his career when he won the Indian Wells by beating Holger Rune. He couldn’t complete the Sunshine Double as in the second round in Florida, Jakub Mensik knocked him out in straight sets before beating six-time Miami Open champion Novak Djokovic to lift his career’s first title.
Draper has shifted his focus to the clay season and will participate in the Monte Caro Masters next. On Tuesday (April 1), the 23-year-old posted a few pictures of his practice session on Instagram. His fans were quick to spot a message dropped by none other than Murray, who didn’t shy away from trolling his hairstyle.
Not sure if you noticed but I think a bird has (poop emoji) on your hair in that photo.

Draper has not yet responded to his idol. Murray, who joined Djokovic’s entourage last year after his retirement at the 2024 Paris Olympics, was also in the States last month where he guided Djokovic to the Miami Open final. It was his first final since October last year when the 24-time Grand Slam champion lost to World No.1 Jannik Sinner in straight sets at the Shanghai Masters.
At Indian Wells, however, the Serb was defeated in his first match against Botic van de Zandschulp. He hasn’t yet claimed his 100th title and is expected to do so under three-time Grand Slam champion Murray.
Patrick Mouratoglou says Jack Draper’s struggles may have been mental
Jack Draper dealt with several injury issues and there were times when he even vomited during matches. According to Andy Roddick, Draper has worked on his fitness and this helped him win at Indian Wells.

I think, up until eight months ago, his fitness was suspect. There were a lot of injuries, there were points in matches even at the US Open where he vomited. Now he seems to have improved.
Andy Roddick had said on his Served with Andy Roddick podcast after Jack Draper’s Indian Wells win
But Serena Williams‘ former coach Patrick Mouratoglou is not of the same opinion. He rather believes Draper’s struggles were more mental than physical.
When you see a young player struggling physically like Jack was, that can sometimes be mental more than physical. The cramps Jack had…and I also remember him throwing up during some matches. This is probably mental and it takes time to find a way to understand this and to control it.
Patrick Mouratoglou told Tennis365
Mouratoglou, who is in the entourage of four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, said Draper is playing with a lot of expectation as “all of Britain” wants him to win titles. The French coach believes Draper is very ambitious and courageous but to win titles, he has to solve his stress-related problems.
How did Jack Draper perform on clay last season?
Following the conclusion of the Miami Open, all eyes will shift toward the Monte Carlo Masters. He had a mediocre season last year as he could not win more than two matches in the six clay-court tournaments he played. At the French Open, he fell in five sets to Jesper De Jong in the first round.

Draper is 13-3 this season and stands in the seventh position in the ATP rankings. He has so far lifted three titles in his career, two of which he won at the 2024 Vienna Open and the 2024 Stuttgart Open.
