Sir Andy Murray has a lot of history and emotion connected to the sport as he plays out the last season on the ATP tour. He has decided to bid goodbye to his professional career this summer, probably at the Wimbledon Championships or the Paris Olympics.
Unfortunately, Murray picked up a back injury at the Queen’s Club Championships and is now in a race against time to compete at Wimbledon. He is set to make a final decision on Monday (July 1), one day before his opening-round match at SW19.

Speaking in a press conference at Wimbledon, the Briton revealed that like the other greats of the sport, he also has an idea of how to end his career, which is at Wimbledon. Serena Williams bid goodbye at the 2022 US Open, not long after Roger Federer hung up his boots at the Laver Cup.
In the last few years, you’ve had Serena who’s finished playing, Roger who’s finished playing, and Rafa who’s been very vocal recently about the struggles he’s been through. Yeah, everybody has their own idea of how they want to end their career, how they’d like it to go. For me, it would probably be Wimbledon.

Andy Murray gives injury update ahead of Wimbledon 2024
Andy Murray is part of the Wimbledon draw this year and is set to face Tomas Machac on Tuesday. He is expected to give an update on his participation by the end of Monday.

The two-time champion recently disclosed that he has no back pain right now. However, the cyst issue in his nerves continues to cause trouble and doesn’t allow him to sleep properly.
I have no back pain, which is obviously really good. But the nature of the problem that I had was I had quite a large cyst, which was squashing, compressing my nerves, which then obviously lost not all, but a lot of control in my right leg.

The former World No.1 will also play doubles with his brother Jamie Murray. Though they have not played many matches this year, they received a wildcard entry into the doubles draw and are set to face Rinky Hijikata and John Peers in the first round.
