Andy Murray has revealed that he now enjoys a new routine with his children since he retired from professional tennis. The British legend has tried to remain close to the sport since then and even picked up a coaching role in Novak Djokovic‘s team, but he parted ways with the Serbian legend in April.
Murray had dealt with several injuries during his career, but a few months before the end of his professional tennis career, he picked up a back injury that forced him to compete in only doubles events. He chose to play his final game at the 2024 Paris Olympics and partnered with fellow compatriot Dan Evans.
They reached the quarter-finals before losing to American duo Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul. The 38-year-old didn’t spend too much time with his family to enjoy his retirement as Djokovic employed him to be his coach for the start of the 2025 season. During their time working together, Djokovic reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open.
The Serbian star also reached the final of the Miami Open before losing the title to Jakub Mensik in straight sets. However, their relationship ended after Djokovic failed to win a single match on clay after the Monte Carlo and Madrid Masters. A few weeks after their split, Djokovic claimed his 100th title at the Geneva Open.
Murray is not currently working with any player on tour and that has helped him spend more time with his children. The three-time Grand Slam champion revealed during an interview with news.stv, that since he has no job, he has been busy with his kids:
A lot of athletes, when they finish playing, you’ve had this routine that you’ve been doing for the last 25 years of your life, and then that’s all gone, but my new routine is with the children, and they keep me busy. I’ve really not missing playing at all because of my family. I don’t currently have a job. I’m pretty quiet during the week when the kids are at school. We get up and do what all families do: try to get our kids out of the house on time and drop them off, and try to pick them up.
Murray and his wife, Kim Murray, share three daughters, Sophia, eight, Edie, six, and Lola, three, and one son, Teddy, four. The tennis legend recently made his appearance at the Queen’s Club Championships after the tournament announced that their main court would be named after the Scottish legend.
Andy Murray says he’s no longer following tennis since his retirement
Andy Murray, who has long been a fan of golf has now found time for his new hobby since retiring from professional tennis. He made his golfing debut at the Celebrity Pro-Am at Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey in September last year. Also, he has begun to spend more time in his hometown, Dunblane.

He was recently appointed the patron of The Dunblane Center, a local charity establishment that uses donations around the world since the aftermath of the Primary School Tragedy in 1996. He revealed during the aforementioned interview that he doesn’t follow tennis much anymore:
To be honest, I haven’t followed tennis that closely since I retired. We had one of the top juniors in the world, Charlie Robertson. I spent a bit of time with him, and my mum keeps me posted on what’s going on.
Murray previously declared that he’s not seeking to become a professional golfer as he only wants to enjoy it as a hobby. The 38-year-old retired after winning 46 titles, including three Grand Slams, two Olympic gold medals, and 14 ATP Masters 1000 crowns.
