They don’t call President Joe Biden Commander-in-Chief for nothing. On Friday, while hosting the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, Biden received a signed Chiefs helmet from Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes.

Last year, the contingent gave President Biden a Chiefs jersey. Keeping the tradition of gift-giving alive, the Chiefs decided to present him with a helmet.

Following his speech, Coach Andy Reid and Chiefs owner Clark Hunt asked for the helmet. As he posed to take pictures with the crew, they wanted the 81-year-old to wear it.

At first, Biden tried to put it on while having his shades over his eyes. After a couple of failed attempts, he decided it was best to take the sunglasses off. That did the trick. He then walked over to the podium and said something that the microphone did not pick up.

Patrick Mahomes was surprised by Joe Biden trying the Chiefs’ helmet on

After the pleasantries, Patrick Mahomes spoke with the media. The Super Bowl LVIII MVP said the experience was amazing. He loved that President Biden accepted their request to wear the Chiefs helmet.

It was cool to see him put the helmet on. We didn't expect that. [But] it was really cool to see him throw that Chiefs helmet on and you get that Chiefs kingdom kind of for the rest of the nation to see.

However, the best part of his trip to DC was escorting the new guys on the team like Rashee Rice, who tagged along despite his recent troubles.

I'm showing other guys pictures on the wall, showing paintings, some old furniture, everything. It really is cool, and I feel I was trying to be a tour guide at some point, [and] so it is cool for that.

The 28-year-old whose current goal as a football player is a three-peat, announced he would love to return to the White House next year.

Hopefully we get to come back again. I'll appreciate it every single time.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce finally had his wish fulfilled. Contrary to his last year’s failed attempt to speak at the White House, the 34-year-old was asked to say a few words by President Biden.

Harrison Butker was also among the players present for the event. The Chiefs’ placekicker, who could see his role in the squad lessened, stood right at the back, perhaps to avoid any unwanted attention he already had because of his controversial speech in May.
