Andy Robertson captains Scotland to glory as Scotland qualifies for a major tournament after 23 years
The Scotland team finally qualify for a major tournament after 23 years!

Scotland finally qualified for Euro 2021 after being absent from any major tournament since the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Scotland defeated Serbia on penalties after Aleksandar Mitrovic saw his penalty saved.

Match report

Ryan Christie scored a goal in the 52nd minute of the match and it was almost enough to send Scotland into the Euros. However Luka Jovic scored a header in the 90th minute of the match to equalize. Scott McTominay had left the Real Madrid striker unmarked and he had a free header. In extra time both teams couldn’t find a chance to put the ball into the net and had to settle for penalties. Scotland scored all of theirs and Serbia did too, until David Marshall saved the last one. Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic missed his spot-kick and it meant that Scotland qualified for Euro 2021.

Scotland find themselves in a group that contains England, Croatia and Czech Repubic. Qualification will be tough, but they’re not nicknamed the Bravehearts for nothing. Andy Robertson led from the front, but had to be rested after feeling a cramp in his leg. Liverpool will be sweating over his fitness now as they’ve already lost three of their four first choice defenders.
