Andy Robertson misses match against Slovakia with alarm bells ringing in Liverpool
Andy Robertson’s injury means that all of Liverpool’s first choice defenders are injured now

Alarm bells will be ringing all over the red half of Merseyside as Andy Robertson misses the line-up against Slovakia. The captain off the Scotland team hobbled off at the end of extra time in the match against Serbia and was a doubt for this match. Now he doesn’t even make the squad as Steve Clarke explained that he was the most serious of the doubtful players. He is now the 16th injured player for Liverpool!

Jurgen Klopp’s headache becomes bigger

Life must be hard for Jurgen Klopp now. If things are serious for Andy Robertson, it would mean that Liverpool will be missing all of its first choice defenders. Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are already injured and face a lengthy period in the sideline. Adding Andy Robertson to the mix would mean that Liverpool is most unlucky team of this season. In addition to their first choice defence, Liverpool have missed Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane, James Milner, Fabinho, Joel Matip, Konstantinos Tsimikas, Alisson Becker and Thiago Alcantara over different periods of time.

If it is confirmed that Andy Robertson has a serious injury, it just adds to the reason that international break must be cancelled. The PL, UEFA and FIFA really need to come together to address this issue quickly and efficiently.
