Andy Roddick has been quite vocal on social media giving his opinions on various topics other than tennis as well. The 41-year-old is often involved in social media debates as well given his bold and courageous takes.
The NBC recently published an article that talked about the health report from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). It talked about the growing danger of Measles, a disease believed to be eliminated from the country nearly 25 years ago. But the cases of the disease are rising at an alarming rate.
The CDC has also alerted how Measles is highly contagious with a chance to spread up to 90% of close contact persons. The decline in vaccination, unauthorized border crossing, and entry of people being unvaccinated against Measles have been primarily flagged as the reasons for the hike.
Reacting to the article, Roddick had a four-word reaction to it. While he didn’t pin the blame on a particular department or individual, one could assume he fired shots at the insufficient policies in place to control this.

Roddick is one of the very few to be critical of the political party he is aligned towards. With the Democrats currently in government with Joe Biden as the President, Roddick has often criticized them despite being a proud Democrat himself.
Social media users come together in support of Andy Roddick’s comments
With the topic of vaccination being quite controversial since the COVID-19 pandemic, the rising cases of measles again led to the debate on people not taking the necessary vaccines. Subsequently, the issue of illegal border crossings also has been a big trouble for the US government.
Social media users however emphasized more on the refusal of citizens to take the vaccine. With a highly contagious disease again at risk of spreading, it’s essential to take necessary precautions. But the reluctance annoyed many like Roddick.
While the US government has yet to make an official comment on it, some strict steps might be needed to curb this. As for Roddick, he yet again showed why it is necessary to sound your opinion even if your political party might be at fault.
