Former World No.1 Andy Roddick has shared his appreciation for seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic after the Serb reached his 10th Wimbledon final on Friday. Djokovic beat Lorenzo Musetti to secure his place in the showdown match with Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday.

Roddick posted a tweet on X to compliment Djokovic for his recovery from a meniscus injury, which almost derailed his chances of competing at Wimbledon. He also reminded the tennis world not to write off tennis greats at any cost.

Novak is in the Wimbledon final weeks after having a knee operation. I have a guy on my fantasy baseball team who fouled a ball off his leg 6 weeks ago and progressed to playing a game of catch yesterday ……. Great is great. I didn’t see it as a possibility. Bet against the all time greats at your own peril. Props.

Djokovic sustained a meniscus tear in the fourth round at Roland Garros against Francisco Cerundolo. Consequently, he withdrew from his quarterfinal to have an operation on his knee.

Novak Djokovic to meet Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final

Seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic will face defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in a rematch of last year’s final. Djokovic reached his 10th Wimbledon final by defeating Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets, with scores of 6-4, 7-6, 6-4.

At 37 years old, Djokovic aims to win his 25th major title and become the oldest Wimbledon champion in history. He currently leads Alcaraz 3-2 in their head-to-head matches. A win would also tie him with Roger Federer‘s record of eight Wimbledon titles.

This is the fourth time two players have met in back-to-back Wimbledon finals this century. In 2004 and 2005, Federer defeated Andy Roddick in both finals. From 2006 to 2008, Federer and Rafael Nadal played three consecutive finals, with Federer winning the first two and Nadal the last one.

In 2014 and 2015, Djokovic and Federer faced each other in the finals, with Djokovic winning both times. Djokovic hopes to avenge his previous loss to Alcaraz and add another title to his collection.
