Andy Roddick broke his silence on the controversial ‘forehead’ remark his ‘good friend’ Jon Wertheim made on Barbora Krejcikova. Wertheim made that comment during Tennis Channel’s preview of Krejcikova’s semifinal match against Qinwen Zheng in the recently concluded WTA Finals in Riyadh.
Wertheim is one of the key contributors to Roddick’s Served with Andy Roddick podcast. When the journalist landed in hot water, Roddick uploaded a video on his social media about his conversation with Wertheim.
Wertheim once again apologized to Krejcikova and admitted he acted inconsistently. He said the ‘uncharitable’ remark meant as ‘self-deprecation’ but as it involved Krejcikova’s photo, it turned into a controversy.

Here’s the full detail about the controversy around Barbora Krejcikova
During the preview on Tennis Channel, Jon Wertheim called Barbora Krejcikova’s forehead an ‘eighthead’. He was unaware that he was live on air, and when the clip surfaced on social media, many censured the journalist for his remarks.
Krejcikova, after her campaign at the WTA Finals came to an end following her defeat to Zheng, called out Wertheim on social media. She demanded respect as the comment that was about her physical appearance and not about her performance was ‘unprofessional’.
Wertheim, in response to the backlash, apologized to Krejcikova, blaming the camera angle that ‘exaggerated’ Krejcikova’s forehead. He was later removed from the Tennis Channel, while the WTA also issued a stern statement on the entire controversy, backing the World No.10 for calling out the journalist.
Krejcikova has lifted the Wimbledon title this season and holds a 18-15 record this year.
