Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic has managed to keep the tension intact about his participation at the 2024 Wimbledon championships. While it has been confirmed that Djokovic will be traveling to London, it is not yet confirmed whether he will take part in the Grand Slam tournament or not. Amid these speculations, Andy Roddick has shared his views on the matter.
As Djokovic shared a post showing him working on his recovery, Roddick claimed that the Serbian is doing it for attention. The American seemed surprised by Djokovic’s post as Roddick reminded everyone that the 37-year-old underwent surgery a week ago and now he is hopping and jumping.

Roddick highlighted that he was also a part of the tournament but never did such things. The former World No. 1 seemed to struggle to wrap his head around how Djokovic is managing to do all these things so shortly after undergoing surgery. The American also claimed that Djokovic wants everyone to follow his recovery.
I was in the tournament once upon a time, but I was not doing this. He (Djokovic) is not like us. He is a little bit different. This is incredible and I can’t believe it. The fact that he is posting this he wants the attention of flirting with a Wimbledon bid and being healthy. He is certainly not dealing with his injuries privately. This is crazy, the thing that he had surgery like a week ago.Andy Roddick said on the Tennis Channel Live Podcast
Andy Roddick still counting on Novak Djokovic despite all the reservations
While Andy Roddick fails to understand Novak Djokovic‘s off-court game, the American has a firm belief in his former rival’s on-court game. Roddick believes Djokovic is still the best grass-court player in the world and can win a few more titles. However, the American is worried about the Serbian’s age catching up.

When Roddick was asked if Djokovic could add a few more Grand Slam titles to his tally, Roddick gave an affirmative response. He said that apart from the age factor, everything else aligns for Djokovic and thus, he still stands a chance to win a few more majors. Roddick, however, also claimed that the Serbian is “chasing ghosts”.
Yeah, if I had a better one, I would say yes. I mean, listen, what you are asking… is health and motivation, the game he can still play. His down year. He's made it; the semis and the quarters of the first two slams of the year are good results. So, I think so, I still think he is the "best grasscourt player in the world" when healthy. But he is not young anymore and time is on its feet and he has certainly given it hell….he is chasing the ghosts at this point as far as the record goes.Andy Roddick said
Notably, Djokovic is only behind Roger Federer in the list of most Wimbledon titles won in their career. The Serbian came close to breaching the fortress last year when Djokovic made the final against Carlos Alcaraz. However, the Spaniard pulled off an incredible win in a five-set thriller. Nevertheless, the chance still stays for Djokovic to equal the Swiss maestro’s tally of eight titles.
