Former World No. 1 and now a well-known podcaster, Andy Roddick, has issued a warning to Novak Djokovic regarding his latest injury struggle. The American believes that the Serbian’s muscle tear could mark the beginning of the end for the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
Djokovic suffered a muscle tear during his Australian Open quarterfinal match against Carlos Alcaraz. Although he won that night, he carried the injury into his semifinal match against Alexander Zverev and was forced to retire.
Novak was playing very well in Australia. The match against Alcaraz and the win over Machac in straight sets were excellent. Against Alcaraz, the third and fourth sets were vintage Novak from two years ago or before. He has fought against time like no one in the history of tennis, but at Roland Garros last year it was his knee that was the problem and he reached the Wimbledon final on one leg. He managed to reach the Wimbledon final on one leg. This year he has another tear and I would be surprised to see him for a few months. I am afraid that at this age you enter the cycle of rehabilitation… can your body recover? We are surprised every time someone gets older, but it is difficult because you have to rebuild yourself after an injury.

Djokovic has faced injury problems since his Roland Garros campaign last year. He tore his meniscus before his quarterfinal match against Casper Ruud and decided to withdraw from the tournament as the defending champion. He also lost his World No. 1 ranking afterward.
However, Djokovic made a remarkable recovery. With his left leg strapped, he reached the Wimbledon final for the sixth consecutive time and went on to win Olympic gold in Paris.
Novak Djokovic withdraws from Davis Cup duty
Novak Djokovic has pulled out of Serbia’s Davis Cup match against Denmark due to a hamstring injury. He will not be able to compete in the first-round qualifying tie starting on Friday.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion faced boos from some fans at the Australian Open. He had to retire from his semi-final match against Alexander Zverev after losing the first set. Djokovic, who is 37 years old, later posted an MRI scan of his injured left hamstring. His withdrawal is a big loss for the Serbian team in the Davis Cup.
He has stated that he wants to focus on Grand Slams and the Davis Cup after winning Olympic gold. Last year, he finished his season after reaching the Shanghai Masters final and playing some Davis Cup matches.
