Spurs moved closer to the relegation places on the EPL table. The club suffered its 12th defeat of the season to 16th placed Everton. They now remain a dismal 15th in the standings, with just 24 points from 22 matches. The North London side is languishing just eight points above the drop zone. Against relegation-battling Everton, who had only scored 15 times in their first 20 league games this season, Spurs conceded three goals in the first 45 minutes of the match. The home side ripped through Tottenham’s terrible defense, that has fallen short due to the club’s massive injury crisis. Spurs did pull two goals back in the second half, but were unable to overcome the deficit.

Speaking after the match, manager Postecoglou was repeatedly questioned about his future. The 59-year-old argued that the discussions should not be about him. He reiterated his focus on taking responsibility for getting the best out of his players and focusing on their upcoming matches. Moreover, he highlighted the effort put in by youngsters in the absence of some of the squad’s senior players.

I separate myself from it. This is not about me. What’s about me is I have a responsibility of the group of players I do have to try to get through this. That’s all I’ve got to focus on.
