Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou conceded that his side was ‘not good enough’ following their North London derby defeat to Arsenal. Spurs were beaten 2-1 by their arch-rivals at the Emirates stadium, leaving them in the 13th position on the EPL table.
Spurs continue to endure a difficult spell in the Premier League this season. They now have just one win out of their last nine EPL encounters, coming against Southampton back in December, and have 24 points from 21 league matches, and are more than ten points behind the top-four on the table Spurs have now also failed to win any of their last six meetings with Arsenal.
Tottenham did take an early lead into the match. Son Heung-min’s shot deflected off William Saliba to make it into the back of the net in the 25th minute. However, Arsenal equalized in the 40th minute through Dominic Solanke’s own goal, coming off Declan Rice’s corner. The home side went ahead four minutes later when Leandro Trossard’s low shot beat keeper Antonin Kinsky, sealing a victory for the Gunners.

Ex-Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit urges old rivals Tottenham to sack Ange Postecoglou
Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit urged Tottenham to sack manager Ange Postecoglou, following a disappointing North London derby defeat. The Australian manager lost his 25th match in charge of the club, after having arrived from Celtic in 2023.
Coming off the back of two back-to-back Cup wins, Spurs had hoped to emerge victorious against their city-rivals. Emmanuel Petit, who spent three seasons in North London, expressed pity for the Tottenham fans. He stated that the club should sack Postecoglou immediately.
However, journalist David Ornstein had recently reported that the club is not considering sacking Postecoglou right away. He hasn’t been helped by the club’s injury crisis this season, with many first team players out.
