Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou highlighted his plans for the upcoming January transfer window, pointing towards the need to sign reinforcements. The Spurs manager has prepared the list of players he wishes to sign for the club, during the winter break.
Spurs have endured a rocky start to the EPL, and have lost three out of their last four matches. Halfway through the competition, Tottenham remain 11th on the EPL table, with just 23 points from 17 matches. They were most recently defeated 6-3 by league leaders Liverpool, a match which highlighted the team’s persistent issues. The North London club faces a massive injury crisis, with four first team players out. The list includes Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Richarlison.
Amid the ongoing crisis, manager Ange Postecoglou stressed the need to strengthen the side during the January transfer window. He pointed to the urgency of reinforcements, while claiming that the team has remained short in managing a couple of areas, including the busy season schedule. Postecoglou also highlighted the need to bring in players who would strengthen the side. Humorously, the Australian boss stated that he has been good with his work, and has prepared a long list of players for Santa Claus.
Fair to say we need to reinforce… want to bring in people who are going to make you stronger. I’ve been really good this year because I’ve got a fair Christmas list for Santa, so we’ll see what I get.

Nonetheless, Ange Postecoglou has faced a lot of criticism for Tottenham’s poor form, despite previously asserting that he would win a trophy this season. In such a situation, it remains to be seen who the club signs. They will definitely be in search of a center-back, and a defensive midfielder.
Ex-Chelsea manager emerges as favorite to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
Former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter has emerged as a potential candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur. These reports have emerged owing to the sheer amount of pressure that Postecoglou faces, amid the club’s recent struggles.

Graham Potter has remained out of work since he was sacked by Chelsea in 2023. He was linked with a move to Old Trafford, following Erik ten Hag’s dismissal. However, Ruben Amorim overtook him to join United, instead. He might be a good option to replace Postecoglou, whose strategies have faltered. Potter has a brilliant EPL record, leading Brighton to a 6th place finish during the 2022-23 season.

Apart from the 49-year-old former Blues manager, a few other names have also emerged to replace the Australian manager at Spurs. It includes Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe, Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna and Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.
