Tottenaham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou had a hilarious ‘injury’ response after his press conference was interrupted by his translator’s coughing fit. The 59-year-old manager was addressing the media ahead of the club’s UEL encounter against Hoffenheim.

Spurs have endured a difficult period this season, having plunged to the 15th position on the Premier League table. Totttenham have gone win-less in their last six EPL encounters. Their last league victory came against Southampton back in December. Manager Ange Postecoglou has increasingly come under fire, following the club’s recent defeat to Everton. It pushed them closer to the relegation places.

Postecoglou will be hoping for his side to at least make it into the last 16 of the Europa League, when they take on Hoffenhiem next. However, they are set to face the German side without several key players, including eight first team stars. Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Dominic Solanke, Yves Bissouma, Timo Werner, Destiny Udogie, Pape Matar Sarr and Brennan Johnson are all out injured.

Tottenham’s massive injury crisis this season has been a reason for its poor display, a fact that has often been highlighted by Postecoglou. In a recent press conference, he poked fun by hilariously stating that his translator has also injured himself. It came after the Australian boss was interrupted mid-way by his German translator, who began coughing. He jokingly urged everyone to stay away from him.

We’ve lost the translator as well, even my translator is injured.

Moreover, Tottenham’s worries against Hoffenheim have increased, with a few other players out due to registration issues. New signing Antonin Kinsky, full-backs Sergio Reguilon and Djed Spence cannot play in the UEL. They have not been named in the club’s 25-man Europa League squad.

Spurs have added Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky as their only winter transfer. They are surely in need of reinforcements in defense, with their two first-choice center-backs absent. With the January transfer deadline looming, Postecoglou provided a major update, claiming that the club is unsure regarding new additions. He added that anything could happen in the last week of the transfer window.

Yeah, potentially. The club is working hard to get some help for the players. As far as I’m aware, there’s nothing imminent but in the last week of the window things happen quickly.

Interestingly, the North London side had attempted to sign PSG outcast Randal Kolo Muani on loan for the rest of the season. However, they missed out, as Juventus agreed on a deal to acquire the Frenchman temporarily. Only time will tell if the Spurs can add to their roster.
