On December 11th, 2019, Angel Garza won the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. Immediately afterward, he proposed to his girlfriend, sports journalist Zaide Lozano, in the middle of the ring. The wrestling world recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of this occasion, and the superstar in question provided an update himself.
A fan posted a video of the moment on X. Another fan replied to this post and asked if their relationship had suffered a similar fate to that of Nikki Bella and John Cena. Garza himself responded to this comment with a photo of his happy family.
Garza got married to Lozano a few months after the proposal in July 2020. The couple now also has a daughter named Dara in July 2022. The 32-year-old clearly made his point with this photo, and fans were happy that he was living a happy life with his loved ones.

Unfortunately, things did not turn out the same way for John Cena and Nikki Bella. The couple was often seen on Total Divas, and the Cenation leader even proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania 33. The next year, the couple called off their wedding and eventually broke up. The former Diva’s Champion eventually got married to Russian Dancer Artem Chigvintsev. However, that marriage recently broke up as well.
Angel Garza undergoes surgery after suffering a wrist injury
Angel Garza has not been seen on WWE programming for quite a while now. He recently announced on his Facebook page that he had undergone surgery on his arms. The former 24/7 Champion was competing in a match on SmackDown when he heard a pop upon landing on his arms.
This bump removed ganglion cysts in his wrist and would require physical therapy after his surgery. He did not give any estimate of when he would be back to the squared circle. He was last seen on the October 18th, 2024, edition of SmackDown in a match alongside Berto, where they took on Motor City Machine Guns and A-Town Down Under.
The Latino superstar recently announced that he had signed a new contract with WWE. He announced that he had no intentions of leaving anytime soon. Thus, he signed on for another year, three years. Although he has never had a significant presence on the main roster, fans love to watch him in the ring and are awaiting his return.
