Chennedy Carter defends teammate Angel Reese amid criticism

In a strong show of support, Chennedy Carter came to the defense of rookie teammate Angel Reese after Sunday’s loss to the Las Vegas Aces. Reese finished with 11 points and 22 rebounds and with her poor shooting form drew criticism on social media.

Carter in a press conference stood up for Reese and offered strong words of support for the struggling rookie. And she has been a vocal part of the squad, and once engaged with Caitlin Clark.

Angel’s down there battling, she’s trying to get some foul calls, playing strong, playing hard, those are the things you need. She had an incredible game no matter if she finished at the rim. She’s doing the things that we need her to do in order for us to be successful. Regardless of the outcome, we’re a team, we’re young, we’re growing, and these are situations that we can learn from.
