Angel Reese BREAKS Sky’s 7-game losing streak with incredible performance
Angel Reese put in a stellar performance on Friday night to help Chicago Sky secure a much-needed victory and ending a 7-game losing streak.

The WNBA this season has seen incredible games which have been lighted up by Angel Reese and rival Caitlin Clark. The two rookies have been in sensational form since breaking into pro basketball this year. The former took it a step further last night as she helped Chicago Sky end a seven-game losing run.
Angel Reese put in a superb performance to ensure that her team got the better of visitors, the Los Angeles Sparks. The 22-year-old carried the Sky to a morale-boosting victory on home turf, with the final scoreline eventually reading 92-78. The win came despite Chicago trailing one point behind in the first quarter, and fans fearing it would become another defeat.
However, the last three quarters saw Chicago Sky pick up the bigger points which turned the game in their favor. Reese finished the game with 24 points and 12 rebounds, hitting a rookie-record 26th double-double of the season in the process! The latest victory means the Sky has won all their three meetings against the Sparks this season.
They will now move up to fourth on the Eastern Conference standings, just one place behind Caitlin Clark‘s Indiana Fever. Reese once again rose up to the occasion when the team needed her most. It’s fair to say that she’s been able to manage expectations so far and fans are yet to see the best of her.
Angel Reese still in contention for Rookie of the Year
Since being drafted as the seventh pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Angel Reese has stood out and seen her stock rise. Her incredible performances in the league this season have seen her widely touted for the Rookie of the Year award. She currently averages 13.3 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. But she also faces intense competition from arch-rival Caitlin Clark, who has stumped up impressive numbers too.
Nevertheless, the former Louisiana State University star has continued to improve her ratings steadily. Despite her recent shooting struggles of recent which attracted widespread criticisms, Reese also possesses many strengths such as rebounding. Indeed, her resurgence against the Sparks showed the elite mentality she has despite getting negative remarks.
Furthermore, the Chicago Sky are now in a good spot for the playoffs after winning on Friday night. Up next, the Sky will host the Dallas Wings on Sunday as the franchise looks for two consecutive wins. The team will definitely look up to Reese to once again lead their charge.
