- Angel Reese's brother, Julian Reese, tied Shaquille O'Neal's record for fastest player to reach 100 rebounds in the NBA.
- Angel Reese has earned two All-Star nods and a spot on the USA Basketball team after a successful WNBA career.
- Frustrations within the Chicago Sky organization have led to uncertainty about Angel Reese's future with the team.
Angel Reese has already established herself as one of the better young players in the WNBA after two fantastic seasons where she set records and proved she belonged in the league.
Her rookie season performances were enough to dispel skeptics who felt that her game might not translate to the pros. They felt she lacked an outside shot, and the predictable nature of her layups would make her an easy target for opposing defenders.
However, what they did not anticipate was how well she used her insane motor and grit to go after rebounds, defend well both on the perimeter and inside the paint, and work on steadily improving her shooting efficiency.
That saw her earn two All-Star nods, as well as a call to the USA Basketball team, which swept all five of its games in the FIBA Regional Qualifiers.
While Reese was making her mark, there were question marks on her younger brother, Julian Reese‘s future in basketball after the Maryland alum went undrafted.
After spending some time on LeBron James‘ Lakers, the center finally found a new home in Washington with the Wizards. Now, after playing nine games for them, he has amassed enough statistics to join a certain Shaquille O’Neal.

He tied his older sister’s mentor as the fastest player to reach 100 rebounds since the Diesel did it in 1992. That is a remarkable feat, and Angel Reese could not contain her excitement to share that accolade on her X page. She knows this will go a long way to help Julian Reese get a consistent role in the NBA.
Angel Reese’s teammate reveals what they had to deal with on the Chicago Sky
As Julian Reese puts together his rookie campaign, his older sister is about to start her third season in the WNBA. After the way Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky finished their 2025 campaign, there is some uncertainty with the organization.

The 6’3″ forward was on the verge of leaving the franchise via trade, as her comments about her teammates and the organization did not sit well with them.
However, one of her teammates, Rebecca Allen, revealed how playing for the Sky led to some frustrating situations, where they had to do things she had not done at any of her stops before in the WNBA.
I didn’t realize how lucky I had it in New York… That’s why they have minimum standards, so that organizations that can raise their level. Having your own locker rooms, you know, not sharing it with the random public. That was the first time I experienced that in Chicago.
Rebecca Allen said
This revelation surprised the hosts of The 6th Woman Basketball Podcast, as they did not expect star players to be sharing their locker rooms with random people.

This means Angel Reese was probably right to lash out at the Sky, as they have seemingly made it difficult for her and her teammates to get facilities that can help them to perform well.
Angel Reese sends out heartfelt message to South Carolina star after Championship loss
Rebecca Allen was happy that she and Angel Reese, along with their Sky teammates, might not have to face this ordeal for long, as the WNBA has inserted rules in the new CBA that will force teams to provide minimum basic facilities.
Those coming into the WNBA will be blessed with salaries that Reese and Allen have not enjoyed throughout their careers. One of them will be South Carolina star Raven Johnson, who just lost the NCAA Championship to UCLA, and is touted as one of the players who could be headed to the Sky.
Proud of you my booskie. Your journey has been so inspiring, and you’re just getting started. See you in the W!

Several mock drafts have former LSU teammate Flau’jae Johnson going to the Sky. It seems, though, that Reese, who admittedly does not have a good relationship with the rapper, somehow prefers the other Johnson to be her teammate.
