Angel Reese has made waves in and off of her rookie season, despite the abrupt finish due to an injury. Her popularity then rose with her podcast where she went unfiltered with her life. The waves also brought some backlash, especially with her recent guest, Chrisean Rock.

Angel Reese is currently under fire from critics over her choice of a guest set to appear on Unapologetically Angel. On a post on her podcast’s X handle, she asked her followers to ask Chrisean Rock questions, only to come back to flak.

Many brought up the singer’s controversial past surrounding her irresponsible motherhood. While others were not having it, condemning Reese to take the guest back. However, the Defensive Player of the Year was not having it at any length. Reese took to her X handle and gave her followers a stern choice between accepting her or not watching altogether.

While the words were harsh, the WNBA rookie has always set boundaries in clear words and her terms. Chrisean Rock’s consumption of intoxicants during her pregnancy, which endangered her child, angered fans. To add to the fire, Reese promoted her on the channel, which held a fair number of viewers. Notably, this was not the first time the public had expressed dissatisfaction over Reese’s guests on her podcasts.

Regardless, the Unrivaled athlete has proceeded to welcome her visitors. Lisa Leslie, Shaquille O’Neal, and Cam Newton were only some of them. The Chicago Sky star has constantly been grabbing headlines ever since her debut in the league.

From being in Vogue to being the first female athlete to partner with McDonald’s, she has achieved a ton. The surge in her popularity has given her a platform to speak her mind and Reese has never hesitated from doing so.

As previously mentioned, Chrisean Rock wasn’t the first person who brought viewer disapproval to Angel Reese. A couple of weeks ago, the Rose BC ally was at the center of controversy when she planned an episode with rapper DaBaby.

As soon as the post reached the audience on X, it met with strong resistance from the users. Yet again, it was due to the disputed past of the singer who was cancelled back in 2021 for making explicit comments about the LGBTQ+ community.

Systematically, Reese and her team asked her followers to send in their questions, much to their dismay. The WNBA rookie likely did not expect the intensity of the objection, making her next move respectable. Soon after, they deleted the post from their handle, and the episode never saw the light of day. People questioned her counsel, who encouraged her to approach debatable celebrities.

Many of her fans quipped about Reese’s work profile and her ways of operation. While she was getting the light and the money, it was at the cost of the bigger picture or her brand. That said, she is largely credited for using the league to her benefit. The former LSU athlete has shaped her opportunities to earn beyond the league, which she has previously stated was not sufficient.
