Angel Reese Celebrates As ‘Fine’ Teammate Hailey Van Lith Stuns In Swimsuit Photoshoot

Angel Reese vouched for former LSU teammate Hailey Van Lith to the Chicago Sky top brass ahead of this year’s WNBA draft. She had firsthand experience that the guard has a similar competitive drive to her, and that will help them succeed down the line.

Van Lith left LSU after a difficult 2023-24 season and rejuvenated her status as a top basketball player through her exploits with TCU this past season. She revealed that even though Reese was in the WNBA, she was keeping it real and was constantly in touch, helping her keep the focus in her final days in college.

Reese claimed she and HVL had unfinished business and was grateful for the second chance to win a title together. Now, as part of the Chicago Sky, the two are looking to learn from the veterans on their roster as they look to develop into a solid playoff contender.

Since being drafted, Hailey Van Lith has been constantly learning at practice. In the little free time she had, she went to shoot for Sports Illustrated’s upcoming Swimsuit digital edition. A teaser SI revealed a month ago sent Reese and fellow LSU alum Livvy Dunne into a frenzy. Now, as HVL shared the official photos on her IG, Reese commented:

Angel Reese knows HVL is a fashionista just like herself. The former is climbing the fashion world with her multiple appearances at various top fashion shows. But now that HVL is starting to make a name for herself, she was there to hype her up again.

Livvy Dunne joins in to hype up Hailey Van Lith

The stunning photos on Hailey Van Lith‘s Instagram have gone viral. Her Chicago Sky teammates, former LSU teammates, and many others have either liked, commented, or hyped her up. Fellow LSU alum and gymnastics star Livvy Dunne was not going to stay away, and she wrote this in her comment.

Her reaction indicates she could not resist revealing her feelings watching HVL’s photoshoot. It might be remarkable considering she is also featured in the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. The LSU alums rocked their respective swimsuits along with other notable celebrities, athletes, and models.

Angel Reese and HVL part of Sky’s long-term approach

When the Chicago Sky set about to restructure their roster this offseason, their focus was to bring in veterans who could help the young core develop the mindset and competitiveness necessary to become champions.

Even though both Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso are NCAA Champions, winning in the WNBA requires a lot more effort, planning, and dedication than college. To help build that, they brought in champions such as Courtney Vandersloot and Ariel Atkins.

Atkins might continue after next season, but the fate of Vandersloot and the other six free-agent veterans is not known. They all might sign on once the new CBA comes into effect. Even if they do, they are there for immediate results.

The long-term goal is to build around the core of Reese, Cardoso, Hailey Van Lith, 10th overall pick Ajsa Sivka, and Maddy Westbeld. Except for HVL, the other three players can play at least one additional position. Considering how the Sky do not hold a draft pick next season, this is the core that they will concentrate on developing alongside some trusted veterans.
