WNBA and Chicago Sky star Angel Reese

Angel Reese had a phenomenal rookie WNBA season in which she broke several records, establishing herself as a force to reckon with. The Chicago Sky have since made her the core of the team and are scheduled to build around her.

With year two coming up in a few months, Reese is focusing on improving her game. However, in the second half of her debut season, it was becoming apparent to some fans that she was missing quite a few easy layups.

Those converted into further rebounds that seemingly added to her stats. Some took direct shots at her for being unable to shoot to her college levels. But every draftee comes with some growing pains.

If Reese was struggling with her shots, she was making it up by grabbing rebounds and generating second chance points. The Chicago Sky star even mentioned once that it was just year one and she is going to improve. But one fan’s comments on social media came to her attention, which prompted her to reply.

Do you realize I got drafted 7th in my class while “missing layups” as a ROOKIE shooting 39% on the year & was STILL a all star and that was the worst you’ll ever see me??? or you just laid up with your dog at home hating Adam??

This was in reply to a post by someone who suggested Reese does not make a layup on the first try. It seems it ticked the superstar a bit too much for her to hit back with such a strong reply. With her debut in the new Unrivaled League coming up a couple of months later, she has a chance to prove these fans wrong.

Angel Reese to team up with Point Gawd and Caitlin Clark’s teammate

The upstart Unrivaled league will start on January 17 with 36 players forming the first complete roster. They divided those 36 into teams of six, each with similar skill sets. Angel Reese, one of the early entrants into the league, became the first draftee selected by Team Rose Basketball Club.

Along with her, the likes of point guard Chelsea Gray and scoring leader Kahleah Copper will be her teammates. Gray, known as The Point Gawd for her unreal ability to find teammates, is going to be the fulcrum Reese needs. Her passing will help the rookie get into easy scoring positions.

Caitlin Clark‘s teammate and close friend Lexi Hull will also be a part of that team. Hull’s jovial nature also might not remind fans that Clark was bullied by Reese’s teammate while she stood and applauded. With a collective desire to win, the young stars might leave those aspects behind to focus on the job.
