After finishing her 2nd season in the WNBA, Angel Reese has walked into the offseason with some goals. One of them seems to be to establish herself as a fashion queen.

In her first offseason, she ensured her presence was felt at every top fashion show or event possible. The Maryland native wanted to dip her feet into that world.

After appearances at several events this year, she broke through barriers to become the first professional athlete to ever walk the hallowed Victoria’s Secret runway. The 6′ 3″ forward stood tall and dazzled in the two outfits she displayed.

Reese went viral not just for her walk, which she mastered in a few weeks, but also because she helped women athletes shine at the biggest fashion stage.

That performance saw the Chicago Sky star appear on fashion media, and now, their coverage of her has continued. E! News shared a video of Angel Reese at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards.

She posed for pictures and then waved at reporters. She dyed her hair blonde, just like how she did last year at the very same event, but it was shorter, going with the recent trend of shorter hair.

Compared to last year, she decided to contrast her ‘white’ look. The 23-year-old sported a black sequin minidress and carried a satin robe over her arms.

Angel Reese hopes to avoid trolls this offseason

Angel Reese’s remarkable rise in popularity and endorsements is not just her own doing. She has credited her team, led by manager Jeanine Ogbonnaya, for helping her get where she is in life.

Videos of them cheering the WNBA rebounding phenom from the Victoria’s Secret backstage gave a glimpse into their chemistry. No wonder Reese was ecstatic to meet them again before the CFDA Fashion Awards.

When she tweeted that out, Ogbonnaya replied, but so did a fan who asked why the usually unabashed and unapologetic women’s basketball star was not as active publicly as she was last offseason.

That was the goal for this offseason. Quietly minding my business so everybody won’t mind MINE.

Angel Reese replied

This answer suggests that the Sky star is actively looking to avoid trolls this time. Last year, as she was going about her business building her brand, those trolls tried to humiliate her at every turn. This time, it seems she wants to take it easy and do what is necessary for herself.

Angel Reese will not play in Season 2 of Unrivaled league

On the point of ‘quietly minding her business’, it seems Angel Reese has also decided to avoid playing basketball in the WNBA offseason. Last year, she was one of the first WNBA players to sign for the upstart Unrivaled league.

In that campaign, the forward recorded some statistics in her name and helped her underdog Rose BC surge to the Finals. She did not play in the finals as she later revealed she needed surgery on her wrist.

Reese was named the Defensive Player of the Year, and her team went on to clinch the title. Her fans hoped the forward would return for Season 2, as now, she would be defending her title.

However, the Chicago Sun-Times confirmed that she will not be doing so. No exact reason was specified as to her exclusion from the Unrivaled roster, but it seems her decision stems from the back injuries she suffered this past WNBA season.
