Angel Reese loses her footing in Unrivaled league debut

Angel Reese ended her rookie WNBA season early with an injury. A surgery and a few months of rest later, she made her debut for Rose BC in the Unrivaled League. She did have a decent game as she adapted to the fast-paced style and recorded a double-double.

She ended her debut with a score line of 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. One of those assists was a beautiful behind the back pass, something she has seemingly picked up from three-time WNBA champion teammate and Point Gawd, Chelsea Gray.

However, this was not her best game, as she made less than 50% of her field goals and threw away five turnovers. Along with that, she could not help her team after picking up four fouls. Rose BC went on to lose the game to Vinyl BC 73-79 in the second game of opening night.

Angel Reese should learn from her debut as there were moments she could have altered the game. On some occasions she reverted to methods which drew a lot of criticism during her rookie WNBA season. She has to learn from her veterans when to attempt a shot and when to look for an open teammate.

But one play during the game defining third quarter had fans in splits. She was defending fellow WNBA conference rival and Caitlin Clark‘s teammate, Aliyah Boston. Boston drove into the paint, faked a shot and then went on to shoot it. However, on that fake, Reese lost her footing and collapsed to the floor.

Fans lose their minds watching Angel Reese put on skates

Fans watching the games live on TNT and YouTube took clips of this incident and posted it on social media. There are other clips of Angel Reese too where she shows off her improved mid-range jumper. However, fans latched on this clip of her on skates. They felt it was hilarious as no other player in the opening two games of Unrivaled League’s debut season encountered such an experience.

They brought out their creativity while reacting to that clip and that of the WNBA All-Star missing layups. Check out examples of such comments below.

Angel Reese still has a lot of games to play in Unrivaled League. She has worked out in the offseason with shooting coaches and has some championship winning veterans in Gray and Kahleah Copper to learn from. Therefore, if she works on her game, she can usurp Azura Stevens to become the leading big on Rose BC.
