Angel Reese has never backed down from speaking her mind. Whether she is in a good mood or not, she usually tends to take questions from reporters and then answer them as she feels fit.

Sometimes, those questions can get quite out of hand, and the 23-year-old has either avoided answering ones she knows will stoke controversy. Or, she answers back in a way where no follow-up questions emerge.

The Chicago Sky star is also aware that she needs the media to connect with her fans. That was until this offseason, when she decided she would give her exit interview through her podcast, rather than face traditional media at the team’s premises.

Even before the game, I’m terrified of what the media is about to ask. It could be the nicest question, but it’s going to get flipped or put into a different light or a different perspective… I don’t want to do an interview with anybody. I’d rather take the fine sometimes rather than talking to the media.

The decision to do her exit interview on her podcast was borne out of the desire to avoid twisted questions about her future after the way she finished her sophomore season.

Angel Reese native believes it is better to take the fine that her team and the WNBA would impose rather than do an interview. She believes some reporters intentionally twist things to make it a mess, and she gets terrified of it.

Hall of Famer lauds Angel Reese for bringing cultural shift to WNBA

Angel Reese blew up the internet after pictures and videos of her walking the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show made their way to social media.

Fans could not get enough of the 6′ 3″ forward as she graced the ramp with ease, donning two outfits as the first ever professional athlete to do so for the lingerie brand. That, Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie believes, is about to cause a cultural shift in the WNBA.

I’m really proud of Angel… I’m happy that she’s the 1st WNBA player to do it. That’s going to open the doors hopefully for more. We have so many beautiful women in our league that could possibly do something like that.

Lisa Leslie said on the Good Follow Show

The 2-time champion believes this is about to open doors for other WNBA players to do the same. She also stressed that women playing can now dream of doing other things than just dribble a basketball.

Angel Reese joins Michael Jordan and LeBron James on Common’s 2K mixed gender team

Angel Reese was selected to be the cover star for the 2K26 edition of basketball’s most popular video game. The game debuts a mode where one can create a team featuring both NBA and WNBA stars. When the Sky star asked actor Common to create his team, he listed these players.

Obviously Michael Jordan is on there. I’m going with LeBron too. Maya Moore is on there. I’m putting Stephen Curry on there. I’m going to put you on there. You’re going to get some rebounds and do what you need to do.

Common said on Unapologetically Angel

That squad selection excited Reese, as she believes that team has the talent to win championships. NBA 2K26’s new feature has become a hit among players, as they mix and match athletes from both leagues to find the perfect mix.
