Angel Reese has the last laugh after her team win inaugural Unrivaled League title
ESPN and fans expected Angel Reese and Rose BC to finish last in the debut season of the upstart Unrivaled League.

Angel Reese and Rose win inaugural Unrivaled League title
Angel Reese had a highly productive rookie season in the WNBA. But after an injury forced her to end her season early, it was expected that she would focus on rehabilitation. When doctors gave her the clean chit, she confirmed her commitment to play in the debut season of Unrivaled League.
She was drafted into the Rose BC team along with other veterans. After the draft, ESPN and fans believed Rose BC was going to struggle to win games and might end up last. After the initial first few games, their belief was turning out to be true.
But then, Rose BC started to work out a winning streak and even beat the undefeated Lunar Owls in that run. Now, everyone felt the team was going to make it to the playoffs. They eventually did and in resounding fashion with Angel Reese playing exquisite basketball.
Many felt that if the Lunar Owls reached the finals, they would win it all. But surprisingly, they lost to Vinyl in the semis. This made Rose the favorites ahead of tonight’s matchup. They went to battle, and Chelsea Gray helped the team execute their gameplan.
Eventually, they won, and Rose BC were crowned the inaugural winners of the Unrivaled League season. Since Reese did not play, she spent time in the stands and her phone was ready to tweet as the game went about. After they won, she sent out this tweet.

This was Angel Reese’s clap back at ESPN and all the doubters who felt they were not good enough. The Chicago Sky forward and her teammates had the last laugh as they create history in this new league. Now they will head back to their WNBA teams as champions.
Angel Reese’s elevated game helped Rose BC in run to title
In those initial few games, fans called out Angel Reese for not working on her game in the offseason. They believed she spent way too much time building her brand instead of the game that has helped her become a brand.
But during the 1v1 tournament, she spent time training with Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie and Unrivaled co-founder and MVP Napheesa Collier. Her layups looked a lot cleaner, and she was confidently shooting from outside the restricted area.
Fans figured out she had worked on her game and her cleaned up layups were a major driving force. However, heading into the playoffs, her left hand suffered a strain, forcing her out. But by then, the team had the momentum and the form to at least put up a fight.
Unrivaled League announced her as their inaugural DPOY. Her record setting 20-20 game along with other standout games helped her get her first accomplishment of this season. Now along with the title win, she essentially shuts down a lot of the hate that she was facing.
WNBA year 2 loading up
In that stellar run, she emphasized that the improvements in her game would transition to the Chicago Sky. Even though she suffered an injury, it is not considered severe to derail year 2 of her WNBA career. Now she will head back to Chicago to continue her recovery.
New head coach Tyler Marsh will begin working with her after she recovers. Marsh has a reputation for helping A’ja Wilson develop into a 3-time league MVP. Along with that, he also helped Dearica Hamby become an All-Star, he developed Jackie Young into one of the best two-way guards etc.
Angel Reese might not that much attention considering Marsh has to coach the entire team. But even if she receives half of some of that developmental training, she could elevate her game. With the accolades she has piled up in Unrivaled, it seems she is determined to make a mark.
