No one stopped Angel Reese as she delivered a spectacular performance against the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces. Despite losing the game 77-75, Reese went toe-to-toe with reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson. The rookie scored 11 points, collecting 22 rebounds and dishing out one assist in the close game.

As a result, Angel Reese set a new record, becoming the first player in WNBA history to record 20 rebounds in three consecutive games. The achievement didn’t stop there. Reese’s impressive performance tied her with Tina Charles for the most double-doubles scored by a rookie in a single season. It remains to be seen if the record gets extended in the next game.

Furthermore, Angel Reese, in her rookie season, has already broken the record for the most consecutive double-doubles in a single season. This record was previously held by WNBA icon Candace Parker. Additionally, she currently leads the league in rebounds, surpassing even the great A’ja Wilson. Reese currently averages 13.6 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.

Her latest record-breaking performance has increased her chances to potentially win the Rookie of the Year award. She must edge out Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark in the battle for the coveted title of Rookie of the Year. Clark has been excellent in her game, as she recently broke the assist record. As such, the race remains as competitive as ever.

Angel Reese’s double-double streak continues, but Chicago Sky’s struggles persist

As Rookie of the Year contender Angel Reese continues hitting new milestones, her team, the Chicago Sky, suffered their third consecutive loss. She struggled with her shooting despite breaking new ground, as she shot 4/16 from the field. This remains an area of concern for the young rookie.

As a result, the Chicago Sky’s have now dropped to an 11-18 record and are just half a game ahead of the Atlanta Dream. With some fans accusing her of stat-padding, Reese took to social media to have a word with her critics. The rookie blasted the critics with a cheeky one-liner.

If it was easy, everybody would be doing it. we good! #skytown

The Chicago Sky’s schedule provides a glimmer of hope, as on paper, they have the fifth-easiest remaining schedule and six home games among their last 11 games. Reese’s impact on the Sky is undeniable. However, her field goal percentage remains a concern, as she converts just 39.8% of her shots. As such, the team will fare better if Reese can shoot well.
