Besides being a hustler on the court, Angel Reese is a phenomenon on the platform TikTok. Or was, considering the 5 million followers she boasted prior to the US ban. The Chicago Sky star joins the country in mourning the platform on her other social media platforms.
Reese’s latest tweets on X are a row of heartbreak as she lamented losing her TikTok account. Post a Supreme Court ruling demanding TikTok dispose of its ownership with its parent company, ByteDance, or consequently face a ban, the platform was shut down in the US late Saturday.
The Unrivaled League star was one of many who expressed their distress via tweets on X. One of them was her referencing a TikTok featuring actor Tyrese Gibson crying about his daughter. In another one of them, Reese expressed regret over not being able to save her drafts before the site was inaccessible. Furthermore, she presented her doubts about her orders from the TikTok shop, which she hoped would be delivered.
The users in the comments section echoed her sentiments over the loss. Having said that, a majority of sports celebrities and otherwise alike relied on the platform to build their brand, making the ban all the more saddening.

The ruling was given in consideration of The Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act. It was rigorously challenged by TikTok in court; however, to no avail. With one platform down, Reese will likely be more active on her podcast and other stints.

All the fun and games aside, Reese did not compromise on her performance per usual. With the Unrivaled League started, her team has faced some challenges going in with a 79-73 loss to Vinyl BC. As for Reese, she significantly upped her game, scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Previously, Reese also received some flak for having engaged more in her pursuits other than basketball. Her recent play surely proved the doubters wrong. Additionally, the fans have grown all the more excited to see more of her on the court.
