If there’s anything Angel Reese is known to do better than basketball, it’s turning heads with her fashion game. The Chicago Sky star juggled with her two passions the entire rookie season and made waves. Apart from expressing herself in her attire, she also appreciated others who did the same, and her latest encouragement went to Hailey Van Lith.
Hailey Van Lith was a much-anticipated name in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and the athlete made her presence very well known. Much to everybody’s unanimous opinion, the Chicago Sky’s overall 11th pick served at the event.
Lith wore a custom-made Coach black sequin dress and matched it with black heels and the brand’s classic clutch. Angel Reese was one of the people who took note of the basketball star and took to X to express her vote of approval. In a one-word post, the Unrivaled athlete declared that Hailey Van Lith was absolutely stunning. “ATE,” wrote Angel Reese via X.
Hailey Van Lith wasn’t the only person from the Draft day that Angel Reese lauded. Additionally, her social media was filled with live updates of the event. Apart from Lith, she reposted a picture of Madison Scott, who donned a blazer and pants co-ord along with minimalistic jewellery for the showcase.
Reese gave her a ‘clean’ nod of approval. She proceeded to repost Aneesah Morrow, in a stunning fit at the event’s engagement with media. Apart from the usual, she displayed loyalty to her LSU teammates by duly congratulating them on their selection.

She also made a separate post for Hailey Van Lith, who was her former teammate during her college years. Reese was exasperated to have her in Chicago to play beside her. In her post, she seemed to recall the time when the two shared a court.
In addition to that, there was excitement to be able to relive it. Supposedly, the WNBA sophomore thought they did not do it right the previous times. It will also be thrilling for the fans to see Reese and Lith play side by side.
Hailey Van Lith tears up over father’s message ahead of WNBA Draft
Hailey Van Lith played for Louisville before joining TSU for the 2024-25 season. In both her stints, she excelled in the court, wherein the past season, she averaged 17.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.
After five years of hard work, she has finally taken a place in the WNBA, and her father had an appropriate message for the 23-year-old. In one of the media interactions ahead of the Draft day, she shared the voicemail while on the verge of tears.
“After your name is called Monday night, continue to be the best version of yourself you can be.”

She read out loud her father’s message, who had reassured her of the world’s mundanity, whether she won or lost. Hence, he asked her to live in the moment and have fun instead of holding onto the anxieties of it.
The video transitioned to an emotional voicemail from her dad, who expressed wonder over Van Lith reaching the WNBA draft. While she might be unsure of her place, her dad was sure of the reality that came from the strong desires she worked upon.
Corey also pointed out Van Lith’s ability to stand straight despite all odds being against her. She had a time when everybody was on the other end. The difficult times were hurting her career, yet she persevered. Now, the top-5 NIL athlete will be making waves with the Chicago Sky in the coming WNBA season.
