When one thought that this offseason was going to be a calmer one for Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky superstar has quietly been proving that it is anything but that.
In her first offseason as a professional basketball player, the Maryland native faced a lot of criticism from both fans and other celebrities for apparently trying too hard to build her image and brand.
Even when she landed top endorsement deals, some believed this was the most she could do, as she did not have skills other than basketball.
However, this offseason, the 23-year-old has been proving that the work she put in last year can bear fruit in the future. Starting with her walk on the hallowed Victoria’s Secret runway, she reminded her critics that she had manifested this when she appeared at the 2024 event.
Now, after another previously unthinkable manifestation came true, the WNBA rebounding phenom reposted a tweet from another user that read:
All that hate be boosting my ego.

This was Angel Reese’s way of clapping back at her critics after they trolled her for trying to find parts in movies or television series without any acting experience.

After her debut in the Netflix movie, A House of Dynamite, alongside Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson, her ‘haters’ cited that her role was not even worthy of acting credits, as her role was similar to fill-in actors who are just part of a scene.
Angel Reese to be a part of The Hunting Wives
Finally, Angel Reese will have not one, but two acting credits to her name. One will be as a voice actor in the animated movie, GOAT, alongside A’ja Wilson and Stephen Curry, who also happens to be the producer.
The other came to light when Netflix released an update on their hit series, The Hunting Wives. After watching season one, Angel Reese had openly mentioned how thrilled she was to watch it.
Angel Reese joins the cast of The Hunting Wives in the co-starring role of “Trainer Barbie”. Season 2 is now in production!
Netflix revealed
This is what the LSU alum manifested when she connected with series writer Rebecca Cutler last August and pitched the idea of her being cast in any role.

In that same X thread, someone suggested to Cutler that Reese could be cast in a role on the Baylor Bears basketball team that Brad, played by George Ferrier, plays for in the series.
It seems the writer took note and created that exact role for Angel Reese, as she was seen wearing the green Baylor University tee in pictures from the production site.
Common’s advice is working out for Angel Reese
When Angel Reese was cast in A House of Dynamite, the 6′ 3″ forward realized she could venture further into a career in acting. Not many professional athletes have made a smooth transition, even though they have the connections to get going.

I was talking to Common—he’s overseas right now shooting season 2 of Silo—and he was telling me, ‘You got to hire an acting coach.’
Angel Reese told People
The Sky superstar said this to the publication back in September. It seems she has paid heed to Common‘s advice and hired herself an acting coach so that she can start early.
That way, she can continue towards her goal of eventually becoming a billionaire one day. With her basketball salary set to blow up in the future, and her endorsements and investments set to increase, such forays into multiple industries could help her achieve her dream.
