The WNBA this season has seen a surge in its popularity and behind it are two rookies, Chicago Sky Angel Reese and Indiana Fever Caitlin Clark. Both players have garnered a large following and as a result, their lives beyond basketball have been up for rumors and speculations.

Angel Reese in particular has had to face conversations about her dating life and she took to her show, Unapologetically Angel to address it. On the show, she drew emphasis on the job description of her kind of significant other as she prefers athletes, particularly basketballers.

He has to bring something completely different to the table because there's nothing you can buy me that I can’t buy for myself... I only mess with athletes. I'm 6'3... I mean, maybe I need to find me a little lawyer who's 6'3… I usually date basketball players.

She was caught up in a web that entangled her and Detroit Piston’s star in gossip that was tagged a baecation, which she also had to clarify. That was just one of many, as strange rumors emerged of her going out with future Hall of Famer and Phoenix Suns’ veteran, Kevin Durant, much to the shock of many. Her recent season-ending injury only makes things worse as the basketball side of her would take second chair to further gossip about her private life.

Angel Reese scheduled for surgery on injured wrist

Fans of Angel Reese would be glad to know that the process of her recovery has begun. She went on Tik Tok to give a timeline on the status of her injury. The injury was a small crack on her bone. The rookie could have opted to continue the season but thought about the long-term implications.

The injury has resulted in speculation that her rival, Caitlin Clark will easily win the Rookie of the Year Award. This might be hard to dispute as the two were the only stars in running for the accolade. Clark has however commented on the situation as she extends her wishes to the injured star.

It’s quite unfortunate that her season has ended, now she has to focus on her recovery to ensure she comes back next season, better and stronger. Her team, however, are in a strong fight to clinch the last spot for a place in the WNBA postseason.
