Angel Reese shockingly reveals she can’t pay $8k rent with WNBA salary
Angel Reese reveals she doesn’t earn so much money in order to cater for her numerous expenses as a WNBA player.
Angel Reese reveals details about the WNBA’s poor salary structure
With the WNBA taking a break, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese continued her high-profile offseason where she made an appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City on Tuesday. In her rookie season, she has thrived financially, as she has secured numerous endorsements, brand deals, and collaborations with major global companies.
Ironically for Angel Reese, basketball, the sport that made her famous, is not her primary source of income. She hinted at this reality during an Instagram Live after the fashion show, where she also commented on her journey and success.
The WNBA Queen of Rebounds’ base salary in the 2024 WNBA season was $73,439. However, this figure does not account for additional earnings from bonuses, such as the $2,575 she received for being an All-Star and $1,500 for making the All-Rookie team.
And while she’s not making as much as her male counterparts in the NBA, she’s been caught spending recklessly, as she recently lost a huge bet to mentor, Shaquille O’Neal. Notwithstanding, the WNBA has provided players with full benefits throughout the year, along with housing and transportation perks.
Joe Budden blasts Angel Reese for off-season activities
As the most interesting WNBA season came to an end, its two biggest stars, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, have taken very different approaches to their first offseason in professional basketball. Reese has been highly visible, where she attended four NFL games in different cities, and also appeared on Wild N’ Out.
In contrast, her rival, Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark, has kept a more low-key profile. And while most fans agree that both rookies have the freedom to spend their offseason as they choose, Joe Budden expressed a different view on his latest episode of “The Joe Budden Podcast,” where he criticized Reese’s public activity and drew comparisons to Clark’s more reserved offseason.
It would be recalled that this is not the first time Budden has been critical of Reese when contrasting her with Clark. This latest comparison has only invoked how toxic the WNBA season was between the two rookies.
