Angel Reese has combined her stellar play in college basketball as well as the WNBA to make a name for herself. She then used that to build a brand around her name and has steadily become a household name that transcends basketball.

She was already earning millions in college through NIL. When she came to the WNBA, she added to those deals by signing other major endorsement contracts. As her rookie season progressed, it became apparent that the salary she draws from the Chicago Sky was just peanuts when compared to what she earns off the court.

She even claimed that her salary is not enough to cover the rent she was paying in Chicago. Many felt it was her arrogance talking, as other WNBA players struggle to earn a decent living. But she clarified that she is not there to earn alone, and was ready to help those who wanted to learn how to earn more.

It is not clear if anyone approached her, but she has continued to set an example, appearing in fashion shows and other platforms to continue building her brand. Now, it seems she wants to help those who are about to enter the world of finance.

Reese, through her Angel C Reese Foundation, joined hands with NBA legend Magic Johnson and his foundation, along with Pull Up Neighbor, to launch Wealth Playbook. The financial literacy program is designed to help high school seniors in her native Baltimore, Maryland.

Both Angel Reese and the NBA Hall of Famer shared the stories on their Instagram pages as they look to draw traction for their venture. They want to help high schoolers get the necessary financial literacy before starting to earn.

Reebok continues to launch Angel Reese custom sneakers

One of the brands that helps Angel Reese support such programs is Reebok. Her close relationship with Shaquille O’Neal has helped her garner a deal. She recently signed a multi-year extension with the brand that made her a signature athlete.

After the signing, it was announced that a signature sneaker is in the works and will be released in 2026. But they already have her name on the signature apparel. Even though the signature shoe is a while away, they are not stopping from releasing custom Angel Reese PEs of their lineup.

They announced recently that they are about to release the new Engine A in Black. The Chicago Sky star has been wearing Reebok customs in every single game. But most of those are not available to the public. These custom Engine A’s will be available from May 15th.

These custom shoes should keep her fans interested until her signature shoe debuts. Considering how her fame is continuing to grow and women’s basketball is reaping the rewards, Reebok’s move to make her a signature athlete might help the company take the fight to the bigger brands.

Reese will feature on Netflix as part of Shaquille O’Neal and Reebok documentary

Angel Reese might have landed the Reebok deal due to the influence of Shaquille O’Neal. The NBA Hall of Famer is the President of Basketball at the company, and most of the deals run through him. On June 4th, a documentary will be released where O’Neal will explain why the company signed Reese.

The documentary titled Power Moves with Shaquille O’Neal details how he is working along with ownership to bring Reebok back as an elite sneaker brand. The brand lost its luster when Adidas took over.

But when they decided to divest it, Authentic Brands Group picked it up and set to work to make it relevant again. They hired both O’Neal and fellow Hall of Famer and former signature athlete Allen Iverson as the Vice-President of Basketball.

The documentary details how they are fighting to become relevant in a market that is dominated by their former parent, Nike, and a couple of other big-name brands. In the trailer, O’Neal explained why they signed Angel Reese and other players. He believes it was a remarkable feat to land Reese, especially when it is difficult to get hold of other premier athletes.
